GLPI is offering a special module on Effective Civil Society Engagement in Electoral Processes at the Mi-PAREC Conference Center in Gitega, Burundi March 23-27, 2015. This module will focus on building the capacities of civil society actors in monitoring, election observation, mass awareness-raising, civic and electoral education and good governance in order to help communities prevent and respond positively to conflicts before, during and after the elections.
The training fees are $500 and include tuition, lodging, meals and participant supplies. There is a limited number of partial scholarships for this module. Candidates who would like to request a scholarship must send a recommendation letter with the application form. This letter should be written by the organization that will pay 50% ($250) of the fees and if the scholarship is granted, it will cover the remaining fees. Organizations who send several participants may also receive a reduction.
